Be all that you are.

Hello, world! There is so much going on right now. The world seems to be consumed in the Coronavirus (COVID-19). It's all news channels are talking about and every other thing posted on social media seems to be centered around it. Not only is it all that anyone talks about, but we are all, at the same time, self-quarantined. Our living space is limited; our freedom is cut short for a while. Being in such restrictive settings seems to be restricting our minds and spirits to the bombarding news that we constantly receive. We hold this constant state of tension in our bodies and may find ourselves feeling particularly “down” at times.

How can we find peace in these stressful circumstances of quarantine? While I have personally enjoyed limiting the news that I subject myself to, this is not to say that we should ignore what is happening to us. Peace can sometimes seem as though it can only exist if you eliminate feelings of anger, sadness, and disorder. But if you cannot experience peace in conjunction with these feelings, are you really experiencing peace in its truth?

World, I encourage you to feel your feelings. If you are angry, explain to yourself why you are angry, doing the same with any other emotion. Try journaling everything that’s on your mind–look at yourself with clarity. Once you acknowledge the reality of your feelings, relish in the fact that these feelings are what make you human. These emotions are proof of your life and resilience. And remember: there are people around the World that share these feelings with you; you are not alone. So, instead of finding peace by sacrificing your “bad” feelings, I invite you to find peace in the fact that your feelings are real and shared by others. You do not hold the weight by yourself. Love.
